The Ohio Program Evaluators' Group (OPEG) is a statewide organization of professionals. OPEG was founded in 1980 by program evaluators in mental health organizations across Ohio. OPEG has now grown to an enthusiastic organization representing a cross section of agencies, institutions, and fields. OPEG is:
- A non-profit network for evaluators in Ohio
- A regional affiliate of the American Evaluation Association
- An organization with more than 100 active members and a network of more than 700 evaluators
- Seeks to promote quality evaluation and research as critical components of service delivery programs in Ohio
- Supports those who conduct evaluations, whether part- or full-time
- Is open to anyone with an interest in evaluation, students as well as professionals
Please watch this website for the schedule of OPEG's networking and training events. The Spring Exchange in May offers members an opportunity to share what they are doing in the field and network. The Fall Workshop in November is primarily a training event featuring experts in the field of program evaluation. OPEG also presents an annual Recognition Award to a member for outstanding contributions to the field of program evaluation.
Annual dues, which are $30 for professionals and $20 for students, help defray the costs of workshops and the website. OPEG is a volunteer-run organization, which means there are no paid staff members.
We invite you to join OPEG! Please use the membership application and join today. Member support (through paying the annual dues and volunteering on the board and service committees) is essential to promoting quality evaluation throughout Ohio.
We also encourage you to view our PowerPoint presentation about OPEG and member benefits. Contact Rachel Holbert, OPEG Membership Chair, for more information.
